January 1999
Hello everybody, we hope
you all had a peaceful and festive start to 1999.
This January has possibly been the busiest and hardest one for us to date .We
are happy to tell you that we have just completed our third CD called "Dawn
of a New Century". To finish it we went back to one of our favorite
studios and places "Puk Studio" in Denmark where we recorded the final
6 songs on violin and then went on to complete the mix. Prior to that we were
in Windmill Studio in Ireland at the beginning of the month where we recorded
the orchestra and Anuna, the famous Irish chamber choir.
But, also tucked into this very busy recording schedule we managed to get to Lillehammer in Norway where we recorded our first ever full live concert which will be broadcast on the PBS network in the states from the beginning of March. We also hope to release this concert as a sales video later in the year.
Appearing on stage, we
had a very special local orchestra, as well as Anuna, and of course our own
wonderful band. Karen Matheson the well known Scottish singer from the group
Capercaillie also performed our new song "Prayer" as she does
so beautifully on our new CD. Lillehammer was a very special moment for us,
to be allowed the opportunity to perform two full concerts and to be filmed
by a wonderful production team from the States called High Five Entertainment.
It was a very large production with a total of 125 people working on the project.
Basically we have not had much time for sleep in the last period as we had to
constantly work throughout the nights so as to meet the release deadlines. So
we are now taking a break for the month of February to be fit and well for the
punishing schedules coming up. Regarding that we look forward to the spring
to the release of both the CD and the video. Most important we hope that you
will enjoy our new music and that we can get to meet you all at are upcoming
concerts in the States and Asia.
Take care for now and will talk to you before we travel again.
Love from Rolf and Fionnuala
