The Recording Process
Rolf Lovland is again the producer of the record, but this time the band also teamed up with Andrew Boland as a main engineer and a co-producer. "It was great to have the luxury this time to work with Andrew Boland throughout the project, as well as availing ourselves more studio time than before. Andrew was a natural choice for both his skills as an engineer and his understanding of our music. We started the recording in my hometown Kristiansand, in Cross Studio, working out all pre-production there in a relaxed atmosphere together with Alf Emil Eik. First we made demo’s of the songs to get a feel and an outline of an arrangement. Then we recorded basic instruments, guide violin and guide piano, to decide the final tempos and the keys. This was important, as our music is performance driven. We didn't want to be dictated by metronomes and computers," Rolf says.
