The
Recording Process . . .
The second part
of the recording was done in Dublin in Windmill Lane Studios, where we recorded
the Irish players like Davy Spillane, Martin O'Connor, Derick Bell and a rhythm
section. The orchestra was recorded in three sessions, and they are a substantial
part of our arrangements. We used a medium size orchestra for some songs and a
larger orchestra with 70 players for the big classical tracks. And finally -the
Irish National Chamber Choir".
But the "Irish" colour in the music is not the full picture for Secret
Garden. From here the recording travels around to Norway, Italy and back to Dublin.
"We wanted to work with some key Norwegian players too. It's important for
our blend of Irish and Norwegian. So we moved over to Rainbow Studio in Oslo.
We had great help from players like Annbjørg Lien, Hans Fredrik Jackobsen,
Joachim Nordin, Rolf Kristensen and Bjørn Ole Rasch to give it a Norwegian
identity. From Oslo we went on to record the violin in Capri."
